In New York City, we are constantly bombarded with talents everywhere. Whether it's an open mic every weeknight, a party, or private gathering many are relentless with sharing thier creative outlets. We were ecstatic to learn of Moxie Knox. The humble, beautifully talented, triple threat killing the indie R&B scene. Knox is one of the power players of New York. Her new music brings 90's R&B to the year of situationships, polyamory, and hotations. Moxie's unique sound is a mix of brandy, Monica, and Toni.

Moxie Knox is an NYC-born singer/songwriter with a smooth, deep tone that is unique in today’s R&B. Her lyrics will have you dancing,riding the waves of her soothing melodies making boundaries list and checking it twice. At five years old, Moxie began her journey into entertainment as a ballet dancer. By ten years old, she began practicing other styles such as hip-hop, contemporary, and African. This child star earned opportunities to perform at renowned spaces like Highline Ballroom, Alvin Ailey Studios and The Howard Theatre. In addition to dance, creative writing was one of Moxie’s favorite hobbies growing up. She penned love songs, poems and short stories in notebooks her parents gave her.

As a high schooler, Moxie began to hone in on her songwriting ability, and she continued to develop it in college. She minored in Music at CUNY City College, where she earned her BA in Business Management in 2016. ;Like many of us, Moxie continues to grind every day. Between attending weekly performance training workshops, or rallying a team of dancers and photographers to help create visuals for her music and brand, Moxie is always on beat! Moxie lives up to her name, personifying the tenacity of a true entertainer.

Today, Moxie Know released her debut single and visual, "Thorough." Directed by Moxie and Pete Frederick, "Thorough" follows Moxie on a blissful date-weekend with her lover-to-be, and is flattered with mouth watering dance scenes. “Thorough" is a smooth, contemporary R&B single that ties sensuality with unapologetically seductive lyrics. The song includes a sample from Bootsy Collins’ “Rather Be With You,” an indicator of Moxie’s passion for soulful R&B. 

"Thorough" is Moxie’s love letter to her future companion. The song paints a crystal-clear picture of Moxie's love language. “Thorough” will release on April 17, 2018 as the first single off of Moxie’s EP, “Motion,” expected to drop in the Summer of 2018. “This project is the sonic representation of the sexiest, the saddest, and the purest facets of my life and my imagination. I think it will touch a lot of people, and even make the two-left-feet-ers want to dance,” says Knox.

Thorough, presents a realistic expectation of love, life, and abundance. "Love should be thorough, sexy and over the top. Why be over the top if we can't use it to describe love?" We can't help but agree. AGAPE!
